I believe rods and reels are available for rent at
the Lighthouse Marina in Hopetown. I personally carry
my own which range from 6lb to 130lb tackle. If bonefish is
your quarry a guide will be helpful if not necessary and they
do have tackle for their guests. If you just want to soak some
bait on the inside or in Tilloo Cut 15-30lb tackle will be good. If
planning on going outside 30-50lb will do nicely
most of the time unless you happen to be fortunate enough to need
80-130lb for a big grouper or marlin. Unfortunatley you pick your tackle and
not the fish. I lost a nice (75lb) grouper and broke a 30lb class
rod this past May. In the future I will bring my big tackle. Shrimp, squid, and rigged
ballyhoo's are available at lighthouse marina and several other places
as well. Good luck and good fishing.
