As a 3rd timer (as kid 25 years ago and last year) I can give you semi-accurate info .. - House short walk north of Hopetown is good idea - don't have to worry about boating/walking back 2 miles from dinner. - Water - Wife and I drank plenty, felt fine, and I'm pretty sensitive to water changes. It's filtered rain water, and since it's 100 miles west of Ft Lauderdale, it's not like your drinking Mexican water. - Visa/MC - Everywhere I went took them. - Rain - October is rainiest, but I've been TOLD that it comes down in buckets during late afternoon boomers. Unlike cloudy light rain you might experience in Jan-Feb. - Water - see http://go-abacos.com/clim/climat.html - Avg temp in October is 82 - quite warm by most human standards. I went in April, when avg is 76, and found that to be just bearable (but I am a water bug). - does it get really chilly at night - Hard to answer, but in April, which is cooler, we never needed more than a windbreaker. - fishing spots - If all you're going to do is hand spool (yes, a 10 inch spool of line with a hook), I don't think it matters much, just can't fish near protected reef areas. If you want to fish for real, i.e. Atlantic, NOT just Sea of Abaco - I have no idea. Probably have to charter something. - Bait - Only suggestion I got was to go to the bait shop "around the corner by the traffic light".
